SNOW ROAD SNOWMOBILE CLUB

The Snow Road Snowmobile Club is a non-trail grooming organization. For information on Trail Conditions contact the K & P Snow Trails Association at 278-0519.

The Clubhouse is located in the western boundary of the township of Lanark Highlands near the village of Snow Road (Address – 1106 Gemmill Road). It was established in 1976 as a meeting place for the community. The Clubhouse is available for rentals seating up to 70 people. There is plenty of parking available for those who want to start their snowmobile trip from Snow Road and the building is heated. Winter events are organized to add a nice variety for this establishment.

During the Winter, the canteen at the clubhouse is open each Saturday from 10 until 4 and Sunday from 10 until 3 - we serve hamburgs, hot dogs, chili and soup. Also available are cold drinks, hot chocolate, coffee / tea, candy bars, chips and homemade desserts. The canteen will be open on weekends during the Winter snowmobiling season.

SHARBOT LAKE DISTRICT SNOWRIDERS

Greetings to the members of the Sharbot Lake District Snow Riders. Our biggest news is the sale of the clubhouse this past fall. It was costing us over $1500.00 per year for property taxes, insurance, heat and hydro. Our use of the clubhouse was minimal and we were required to raise funds through activities to cover these expenses. Since the clubhouse was located quite close to the town it wasn't needed for warm up, etc. The club continues to operate as before and our meetings are held at the Country Inn Hotel on the third Thursday of each month. You are welcome to attend.

All clubs are in dire need of volunteers and ours is no exception. We would certainly like to see more volunteers step forward to help.

The trail from #108 North to Crotch Lake is finally completed which links up our trails very nicely to the Ompah trails and provides a loop for more variety in riding. Come out and enjoy your groomed trails.

Your executive for this year is as follows: President - Wayne Harris (279-2924) deerdock@frontenac.net. Secretary - Elinor Bailey (279-2771) baileybe@kos.net; Treasurer - Ann Howitt (279-2706) keann@kos.net; Vice-President - Gary Parks (279-2012)

Each year on the July long weekend our club sponsors a soapbox derby with the support of local business.
